I am a 20 year police officer from Denton, Texas. I just ordered and received your Spanish Field Manual and audio CDs. This material is one of many I have purchased in the last few months...some better than others. I just wanted to say your book and CDs are probably the best I have used so far. Extremely thorough, informative and beyond the normal street manuals out there; in fact it is probably beyond some $100 textbooks I have looked at. Thank you for putting such effort and dedication into your product. I am sure it will make a big difference in the kind of officer I will be in dealing with our growing Latino population. I just wanted to say thank you.

This
is an endorsement for one of the most invaluable tools I have ever used in my
law enforcement career. The SURVIVAL SPANISH products produced by
Robert Dent are readily "absorbed", and greatly enhance one's safety
and allow one to expand their base of knowledge.
I had the privilege of working alongside Bob while he represented the Oregon
State Police, both as a Criminal Detective and front-line Trooper. How
fortunate was I! Can you imagine how tough it was! To back
up my Trooper partner who was a Staff Instructor for the American Society of
Law Enforcement Trainers and a frequent trainer on the Law Enforcement
Television Network!
I
remember when Bob told me about starting the Constable Public Safety Memorial
Foundation, so assistance could be given to the families of officers killed in
the line of duty. Robert Dent is the real deal; he wears his passion on
his sleeve. I am a better person because of him.
Better
yourself or the one you love. Invest in YOUR future. The training
materials have allowed me to develop conversational skills with the Spanish
speakers I frequently contact.

Great Respect,

"This is
simply the best Spanish reference manual for public safety. I reviewed
probably all available Spanish / English reference manuals for law enforcement
officers before ordering Detective Dent's manual. It is head and shoulders above
the others. Its easy to read with all the phrases law enforcement officers
need. As a police Sgt. I use the manual at my briefings to teach my
officers Survival Spanish. Teaching simple commands like "Manos Ariba"
(Hands up) can be a life saver at a car stop. I listen to your audio CDs
in my car while on patrol which helps me verify my pronunciations are correct.
A copy of this field manual should be in every police station across the
country."

"I found your materials to be very useful, thorough and a great asset to my Spanish for Law Enforcement class. The video, “Interactive Survival Spanish – High Risk Vehicle Stops,” received rave reviews from the officers; a great “hands-on” way for the officers to practice how to take control of a situation by using a few simple Spanish phrases. I also found the PowerPoint presentation to be filled with very pertinent and valuable information that will help save lives. All of your materials are wonderful teaching tools and should be a part of every Spanish for Law Enforcement class taught.
Thank you so much for all that you do!"

"Your
program was invaluable for me when I worked on the Mexican border. I
ordered the Survival Spanish manual and audio CD's for my employees, as I
know they work wonders.
I am now in New Orleans, my new duty station and
home. I am encouraging all my personnel here to use your program, as it is
the most practical program I have found for law enforcement. Great job!
Thanks again for developing this."

Mr. Dent:
I just wanted to say thanks
for a great job. I ordered your “Survival Spanish Field Reference Manual”
in 1992 when I was just a new officer in south Florida. It has served me well
over the years and is continuing to do so to this day. I just wanted to
let you know that your work has saved my life. It provided me with word
recognition and phrases used by suspects in a violent arrest situation. I went
into State then Federal LE and your book was used in the training of every
special agent assigned to me as on FTA over a 10 year period. To say that it
works is an understatement. I had no idea a new version one came out, as
the old version was wonderful. However my new position has caused me to search
out 20 or so copies for protective teams. Again, any officer, deputy, or
special agent who doesn’t own a copy or is fluent in Spanish is putting
themselves and partners at significant risk. Also I now speak four
languages and your other offering are just as vital.

the Survival

about it. It
will make my teaching so much more enjoyable. I

Dear
Mr. Dent,
"My background is in education and I taught at the college level for eight years.
I have seen my share of educational materials and when I looked over the
field guide I was very impressed to say the least.
It was a tremendous undertaking and very well done.
The depth and quality of content is extensive and thorough but concise and to the point. Nothing is
wasted. The officer gets the exact
and directly applicable information that they need."
"I just
wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know how quickly your "Survival
Spanish" materials were put to good use.
I recently purchased your manual for a friend of mine who is a Missouri
State Trooper. She just called me to
let me know that she had just finished working a bad accident involving a family
from Mexico. A mother was in a van with her
husband and three children (12, 10, and 8) when they were hit by a drunk driver.
The mother was badly injured and spoke no English.
My trooper friend was the only one on scene with any Spanish speaking
capability. She was able to get her
vital information, find out where and how she hurt, and provide reassurance that
she was going to be okay. She was
very happy to say the least. Thanks
again - you've got one star pupil and a frightened woman who benefited from your
efforts tonight!"
THE REST OF THE STORY... "Later that same
night my trooper friend called me...she had just found out that the woman who
was so severely injured in the accident, later died at the hospital. I can't
tell you how much more it meant to the trooper that she was able to offer the
victim words of comfort in her last hours. I'll
tell you the same thing I told the trooper that night - thank you for being
there, thank you for your years of service, thank you for all you have had to
see and deal with for the sake of others.

"Bob Dent's Survival Spanish for the field of law enforcement is a way to learn Spanish simple but necessary words and expressions for immediate use, and contains materials to advance further with the Spanish Language. Whether used for individualized instruction or in a classroom, all of the Constable Group's materials are solid and accessible. I will continue to use these materials to work with credit classes for Spanish for Law Enforcement at our community college.

"Mr. Dent I was in your class in St Peters MO on Wednesday, November 5th. I just wanted to tell you how impressed I was with it and how informative you and your co-instructor were. I can honestly say that your class was the most informative training class I have taken in my ten years in law enforcement dispatching. Thank you so much for offering it."

"While I am not someone with a law enforcement background,
my work in life is to help people to communicate with each other, and my mission
is to do so effectively. I have been teaching Spanish to adults for 22 years at
the university and college level. Ten years ago, I began teaching occupational
Spanish in the areas of business, education and Medical Spanish. I was always
hesitant, however, to delve into the area of law enforcement, as I considered
this to be a huge responsibility and, quite frankly, did not feel that I was
adequately equipped to do so. HOWEVER, with the products,
information, tools and support provided to me by The Constable Group, I now feel
confident that I am able to provide a genuine service to our law enforcement
personnel who increasingly feel the need for a basic understanding of Spanish,
as well as insight into the Latino population here in the U.S."

NOTE: This is a testimonial after Ms. Wilbur conducted her training seminar.
As Supervisor of Language Acquisition, last month I piloted the Survival Spanish training for our law enforcement agencies. Several agencies and police departments were well represented. Thanks to the highly organized, thorough and creative PowerPoint presentation from the Constable Group, our class was a huge success. Each and every participant left the class feeling excited and highly motivated to maintain their new skill by practicing with colleagues and by using the video, High Risk Vehicle Stops. In a class evaluation taken at the end of class, all participants unanimously agreed that the material used in the class is excellent, and that they would highly recommend the training to others. One officer even commented, "I think this information will allow me to be more effective in providing a higher quality of service to people I come in contact with and allow me to do it safely!"
Thank you, Constable Group, for providing us with such outstanding resources.
Laura Willbur, Supervisor of Language Acquisition
Mr. Dent:
"I previously purchased your Spanish Field Manual and Interactive High Risk
Stops training video so I could teach myself and others on my department.
I have instructed a few in-department classes of basic survival Spanish
in the past. I am not fluent but I
am able to communicate on a basic level to get the job done safely.
The troops find your video to be an excellent way to interactively learn
some survival Spanish phrases and actually retain them for use. Thanks
to your video and field manual, it has motivated me to take some college
courses."
